Young and talented Ludovica Francesconi will be the patroness of the 17th edition of the festival curated by Maddalena Mayneri and devoted to the best Italian short feature films. The festival will be opened from the 20th to the 27th of March 2022 and will look, as always, at scouting.

Ludovica Francesconi seems to be having skipped all the steps. Despite her young age, she is climbing the top of notoriety. After approaching acting when she was eight years old, she started practicing piano and singing at ten. Afterward, solid training and the acting stages with directors such as Matteo Rovere, Claudio Giovannesi, and Rolando Ravello filled up her schedule.

In 2020 she debuted on the big screen as a protagonist of Sul più bello, Alice Filippi’s debut film, inspired by Eleonora Gaggero’s novel, presented at 50th Edition of Giffoni Film Festival and, as a special event, at Alice nella città at Rome Film Festival. With her interpretation, Ludovica was acclaimed by critics and public and received the Guglielmo Biraghi Award at the Nastri d’Argento in 2021 and Next Generation Award of Man in Town at the Venice Film Festival 2021.

She is back in the film with the sequel of Ancora più bello while, in 2022, we look forward to seeing her protagonist of the final part of the trilogy of Sempre più bello.“I’m deeply grateful to Cortinametraggio for choosing me as official patroness of 2022 edition”, Ludovica said, “When Maddalena Mayneri called me I was flattered and proud of doing this wonderful job”.

As for the presenter of the 17th edition, actor, dubber and comedian, Roberto Ciufoli, will take the stage with Michela Andreozzi, sparkling personality and polyhedric comedian, writer, screen player, and radio speaker who, over the past years, debuted as a film director in Nine Moons and a half (2017), Good Girls (2019), Parents vs. Influencer (Sky, 2021) and on Netflix with Astro guide for broken hearts.

About the Extra Festival, then, worth of mention is the Ann’Amare Award, in memory of Annamaria Petrassi and established by Petrassi Moretti family, at its second edition and the Cortiadi – Winter Sport Short, an actual sports competition born with the sponsorship of FICTS FederationInternationale Cinema TelevisionSportifs.

To submit proposals for short films, the deadline is the 5th of February, using the Filmfreeway platform. The section Cortometraggio is looking for Italian short-feature films no longer than 20 minutes, made in 2021, including comedy, horror, thriller, science fiction, drama, and detective. The festival direction selects the proposals and appoints a board of experts made up of journalists, film critics, directors, actors, producers, and distributors.
