Are men worse than bears ?by Ferruccio Gard
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women has prompted some social platforms to conduct a funny survey. Females of various ages were asked whether, in the guise of a lone painter searching in a forest for the right place to make a beautiful painting they would fear encountering a bear or a stranger more better a bear was the almost unanimous answer. Because the bear at best would kill you, which of course a man can do, but maybe after raping you and subjecting you to cruel torture. Moreover, you can hope that you would not be assaulted; a bear would run under certain circumstances, while with a potential raper and feminicide perpetrator one would not have a way out. A bunch of big men consulted on the topic, felt deeply offended. Suspecting any man to be a potential raper because a woman may encounter him alone in the forest is an exaggeration and definitely offensive to the gender. However, women, in a prudent state of alertness following the many incidents of violence, do not forget the proverb “Opportunity can make the thief.” Anyway, I insist on claiming that all of this is overkill and that it is disrespectful toward men, who, by the way, before certain paintings would run away faster than before a bear. Has everything been clarified? Not at all. Someone else was asked: if your daughter were walking alone in the forest, would an encounter with a bear be worse than coming across a man? Unbelievable… the answer was… the bear is better. Do not forget that: bears are wonderful animals and if, in meeting one, some rules are observed, they are also extremely peaceful.
